I had a situation where on a commercial loan call, I was ending the call and the investor said, “I’m shopping other lenders, I’ll get back to you in a couple of days.”
Prior to that I had control. At that point I lost control. I didn’t know what to say to get control back. What can one do in a situation like that?
You could say, “If you’re wanting to shop other lenders obviously you’ve not heard from me what you need to hear to make a decision. What is it that you need to hear to be fully convinced that we’re the best choice for you?”
